About Maurizio Tonetti

Professor Maurizio S. Tonetti is an internationally recognised clinician, researcher and educator in periodontology and implant dentistry. His academic work has centred on periodontal regeneration, treatment outcomes, clinical decision-making and the broader health implications of periodontal disease.

He has held senior academic and departmental leadership roles at institutions including the University of Hong Kong, University College London, the University of Bern, the University of Connecticut and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology.
